I control uControl
If you are a OSX user, and you are "hardcore" (meaning that you
need the control-key to be in the right place (where some bastards
put something called "caps-lock")). You've either found ADBControlFix or
uControl. Now,
uControl is by far better than ADBControlFix, and I wanted to install it.
Turns out I can't, as it wants IOHIDFamily version X, where X is in { 1.3,
1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.3.3, 1.3.4 }. Except it works just fine with 1.3.5 (which
came with the 10.3.6 update), but the installer won't install it. And the
maintainers haven't gotten to it yet.
Damnit, I want uControl, so I patched it, and now I have uControl on my box. The patch: ucontrol1.4.4-IOHIDFamily1.3.5.patch The installer: uControl1.4.4-hack.dmg UPDATE: Nov 15, 9:48 Andrew Main bugged me to clean this up a bit, so here is an updated form of the patch, and the installer, with most references to the version changed to "1.4.4a" (the kernel module itself is still "1.4.4", as "1.4.4a" refuses to load). The patch: ucontrol1.4.4a.patch The installer: uControl1.4.4a.dmg |
